Our client has 3 clinics in the Inverness region. They are now looking for an enthusiastic and flexible Full Time Registered veterinary Nurse to join them.
The clinics have lots of great equipment including multiparameter for all surgery, ADE, Doppler, clean and dirty ops theatres, separate dog, cat and isolation kennels plus much more and most recently a top of the range digital Xray. All of this allows the team to offer a comprehensive service to clients.
Inverness is a great place to live and all the practices are based in areas that allow you to get out at lunchtime, whether its shopping, a walk in the woods or a peaceful walk down the canal. The airport here has great connections to the rest of the UK and a few places in Europe. If the outdoor lifestyle is for you, then you would be hard pushed to live in a better place in Scotland, hillwalking, cycling, wild swimming, water sports are abundant here, and within easy reach.
There are 6 vets, 5 nurses and they also have a dedicated dispenser. There is a large team of experienced support staff, covering reception and office work that work across the three practices to keep the practice running smoothly. They have a Medicine certificate holder and two vets working towards Medicine and Surgery certs. They are lucky to also have in the group a Referral Practice that covers orthopaedic, soft tissue, dermatology and pain management, giving the opportunity to easily refer, they are going to be in the forth practice later this year that will be fitted out with all the latest equipment including a CT scanner which the first opinion clients will have direct access to.
Working across three practices, you will join the rest of the team working in rotation providing nurse consultations and peri-operative nursing. The consultations include the standard paediatric weigh & worming, post-operative checks, microchipping etc. In addition to the usual appointments, the nurses have the freedom to create and deliver targeted appointments such as: weight management, geriatric cat consults (silver whiskers), behavioural and desensitisation and many more. Whatever your passion is, they will encourage you.
There are four surgical theatres and you will be involved in a wide variety of surgeries. The client is always looking to develop their nurses in areas of their interest and are happy to support you through courses to enhance your skills. For working out of hours you will be compensated with long weekends.
Working up to 40 hours per week across 5 days (full time basis, part time can be considered). Shifts are between 8.30am to 6.15pm and Saturday's 8.30am-12.30pm on a 1:3 rota.
You must be a Registered Veterinary Nurse, want the best for patients and have a desire to learn more. They are looking for a nurse that wants to give their best and enjoy working as a team, supporting their colleagues and getting involved in all areas of the practice. Salary is up to £29k pa DOE, and a relocation allowance of £1k.
