They are a Tier 3 hospital practice with a fantastic local reputation, they are a hybrid between a first opinion and a referral clinic, thanks to the state-of-the-art facilities and the expertise of their dedicated team. The team includes 17 vets, both full-time and part-time, who provide exceptional veterinary care.
Facilities
The main hospital boasts:
•    High-end ultrasound machine
•    Digital radiography (including dental)
•    Endoscopy, rhinoscopy, bronchoscopy
•    Electrocautery
•    Laparoscopy
•    Tonometry and slit lamp
•    Fully equipped lab for comprehensive diagnostics
The largest branch also features digital radiography, ultrasound, and a fully equipped lab. Our lab can perform a wide range of tests, including T4, SDMA, cortisol, bile acids, CPLI/FPLI, coagulation tests, and urine sediments, and we have access to Imagyst for rapid hematology and cytology interpretations.
They pride themselves on providing the best first opinion veterinary care. Their multi-disciplinary team includes certificate holders in Surgery, Internal Medicine, Ophthalmology, and Anaesthesia. With vets pursuing certificates in Surgery, Imaging, Internal Medicine, Endoscopy, and Dermatology. Their surgery certificate holders perform complex procedures regularly, including BOAS surgery, cruciate surgeries, fracture repair, cholecystectomy, liver lobe resection, TECAs, and more. And they also offer laser therapy, acupuncture, and physiotherapy.
Location
The hospital is conveniently situated between Nottingham and Derby. With easy access from the M1 (J24 and J25), close to the train station, excellent bus service, and is close to East Midlands Airport, making it an ideal location for commuters.
The Role
They are seeking a permanent veterinary surgeon to join the out-of-hours team. The role involves working a rota of seven nights on followed by fourteen nights off. The team handles out-of-hours care for themselves and our neighboring practice
Shift Pattern:
•    Monday:
o    6:30 pm to 7:00 pm - Handover from day hospital vet
o    7:00 pm to 8:00 am - Out of hours service
o    8:00 am to 8:45 am - Final calls to clients
o    8:45 am to 9:15 am - Handover to day hospital vet
•    Tuesday to Saturday Morning:
o    Same shift pattern as Monday
•    Saturday:
o    5:45 pm to 6:15 pm - Handover from day hospital vet
o    6:15 pm to 9:45 am - Out of hours service
•    Sunday:
o    9:45 am to 10:00 am - Handover to day hospital vet
o    5:45 pm to 6:15 pm - Handover from day hospital vet
o    6:15 pm to 8:00 am - Out of hours service
They have a second on-call rota for additional support during the night. Accommodation is available during work weeks, so don't let distance deter you!
