Our client in South Yorkshire have a fantastic opportunity for a an experienced veterinary surgeon to join them in a Lead Vet capacity.  As a Lead Vet, candidates will have experience in a broad scope of clinical cases both medical and surgically.  Surgically wise candidates must at AVP level or close to achieving this.   Surgical kills should include:
  • TPLO/TTAs or equivalent, spinals, fracture repair and
  • Complex soft tissue (eg. perineal urethrostomy, TECA, BOAS, thoracotomy)
Candidates will also have some softer skills based around leadership and management.  These would include empathy and communication skills.  

As well as ensuring excellent clinical standards are maintained and improvements made where required, the successful candidate will focus primarily on the clinical performance of the practice and clinical team.  Much of the more traditional "managerial aspects" are handled by the Practice Manager.  This is a great role for vets wanting to learn about the ins and outs of running a business before one day opening their own practice.  For vets looking at ownership, partnership is a very real, easily achievable option for this practice.
