Our client is a long established, well-respected 1st opinion practice in the heart of the community within 4 miles of lively central Manchester. They are now looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join them.
The practice has a huge and loyal client base with a varied mix of consults and surgery. They are in the fortunate position of being able to offer fully flexible rotas including full time, part time, flexitime and a bespoke rota to fit around childcare and school holidays etc. The practice has good facilities including a digital x-ray, ultrasound and in-house lab.
Some of the clinics clients have been with them for over 40 years and they work hard to deliver a service that's the best it can be, and that’s affordable for clients. They are a big part of the community and are very proud of their reputation. There’s a lot of opportunity for progression, especially with the nursing team, which is a big focus for them at the moment. They know that as the team develops, it increases the service that they can give and they want to ensure everyone is supported to reach their full potential.
Duties include:
• Undertake all general nursing duties within the practice and Nurse appointments.
• Participate with the admission and discharge process of patients, the accuracy of which is of vital importance.
• Participate in the cleaning and maintenance of the premises and patient areas and particularly the clinical areas with regular cleaning/routine care of all equipment to include the correct methods of sterilisation and reporting any faults or damage.
• Administer treatment (e.g injections, medications, fluid therapy and dressings) and dispense medication as instructed by the veterinary surgeon all in accordance with professional guidelines and practice policies.
• Ensure you keep accurate records with regards to medical records, anaesthetic sheets, hospitalisation forms etc.
• Maintain accurate client and patient records.
• Ensure effective stock rotation/replenishment where applicable.
• To demonstrate a commitment to continued professional development.
• Understand and implement practice and group policies.
• Take an active role in the training programme of veterinary nurses and animal care/ kennel assistants.
They are looking for a RVN who will bring your ideas and enthusiasm to the role and suggestions are always welcome. The team strive for continuous improvement in both how they operate and the service that they offer. The candidate must be happy to be the sole nurse whilst on shift with the Vet and Support Staff. They would like someone who will be proactive in helping to improve their clinical standards, who isn't afraid to get stuck in, and can cope well under pressure as they are a busy little practice. This is a full time position (40 hours a week) over either 4 or 5 days. This is flexible and they can accommodate part time hours to suit. There are flexible shift patterns between 9:30am and 6:30pm, with a share of the Saturday rota which is 1:4 (full day) but no out of hours.
Salary for the role is up to £30,000 depending on experience.
