This well-established 4 branch practice with a bonded client base is looking for a full or part time experienced Vet.
They have a very friendly sociable, stable team, including experienced Nursing and Support teams. The practice is well equipped for GP caseload (laboratory, digital x-ray, dental x-ray, ultrasound, dental equipment, MPMs etc). Ayrshire has great beaches and lovely countryside with excellent access to the facilities of Glasgow or the outdoor pursuits of Arran. There are good transport links as 3 of the branches are near railway stations.
They are now looking for a professional and dedicated Veterinary Surgeon to join the team. This is a first opinion GP role with mix of medical and surgical cases (consultations only if preferred) and time to work-up your cases.
The full-time rota is 4 weekdays and a share of Saturday mornings (with a long weekend every other week). They have a number of part-time team members and would be happy to explore part-time options. The out of hours is covered by the local Vets Now to give a good work-life balance. The working day is usually between 8.30 and 7pm, Monday to Friday (usually 10 hours including an unpaid hours lunchbreak ie 9 hour shifts) and Saturday 8.30-12 noon (1 in 2).
There is a 11 Vet team of experienced GPs, 7 Nurses, 2 Student Veterinary Nurses, Animal Care Assistants plus Reception and Support staff. The clients and the health of their pets are their focus, and they enjoy a friendly supportive team atmosphere with a reputation for dedication and high standards. They are a team of generalists with some Vets with special interests - ultrasound, exotics, wildlife and ECC. One of the Vets visits the local wildlife centre to treat anything from hedgehogs to seals.
They are looking for someone who enjoys first opinion general practice but would be happy to encourage a candidate with a suitable interest. Development and training are supported and encouraged. The role could offer the stability for an experienced clinician to follow their own cases and interests or support from an experienced team for someone keen but less experienced.
Salary is up to £68k pa DOE and there is a relocation allowance of up to £1k if required.
