Our client has a group of 4 branches near Maidenhead who are looking for a Full or Part Time Small Animal Vet to join them.

The practices main site is based in a beautifully converted barn looking onto open fields in Maidenhead. The practice is on the edge of the Chilterns with the beautiful countryside and the River Thames on their doorstep. There are also excellent transport links to London.

You will have access to excellent clinical equipment including endoscopy, laparoscopy, ultrasound, digital x-ray, slit lamp, tonometry and a dedicated dental suite with radiography.  There is a friendly team of 14 Veterinary Surgeons, 14 Nurses, an Orthopaedic AVP and 4 certificate holders (medicine, surgery and cardiology) with others currently working towards ophthalmology and ECC certificates. They encourage staff to work towards certificates and support individual interests. 

Your day to day duties will involve a mix of consultations and surgery days, requiring some sole charge work. The successful candidate will be responsible for the workup and care of patients that they see and admit into the practice. The position is ideally full-time although part-time will be considered, working 4 days a week with a set day off. An average day is 8.30 am-6.30 pm with one late night every 2 weeks. On these days the phones go across to an OOH provider at 8 pm but the duty vet is expected to provide inpatient checks until 10 pm. The Saturday/weekend rota is shared between 10 vets and involves three shift patterns 1:10 full weekends (Saturdays 8.30 am – 3 pm; Sunday 9 am – 12 pm) 1:10 Saturdays (9 am – 3 pm); 1:10 Saturdays (9 am -12 pm.) The are looking for a caring, enthusiastic, team player who has good communication skills and gets job satisfaction from case continuity and bonding with clients.

Salary is up to £63k pa.
