Our client started as a single vet practice in East Dulwich, SE London 12 years ago and have now grown to have 3 practices in the local area.  The 3 locations all provide a wide variety of London clients which is what helps make the practice so interesting and fun.  There is a varied caseload with the 'normal' toys - Radiography, US and dedicated theatres at all three practices and dental radiography at one of the branches

Are you looking for a practice where you can grow, learn, thrive and be your absolute best? Do you want to excel in the things that you most like about being a vet? Do you want to be somewhere where you are valued and listened to? Then our client has a unique opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon to join them

You can expect an excellent standard of care. For example, for every anaesthetic, they use the best drugs (only sevo gas) and everything has an IV placed and gets fluids. They use a range of anaesthetic monitors, they manually chart, supervise, train, and record incidents to review the practice and process in a supportive way. They run 20 minute consultations as standard and make sure you have time for work-ups and surgery. They want you to have time the time to give the care you want to give, in an environment that stimulates and supports you.  You can expect excellent support, enough consultations, dedicated surgery/procedure time and lots of on-going mentoring/support from team members with a wide range of experience.

They would welcome full and/or part time applicants. The full-time rota typically looks like: 4 weekdays (Monday - Friday) 3 x 11 & 1 x 4.5 hour shifts = 37.5 hours per week. 1:3 weekends which is 1 in 6 Saturdays: 8:30am - 3:00pm and 1 in 6 Saturdays and Sundays both days 9:00am - 7:00pm.  To clarify this means working every third weekend; one weekend a ‘short’ Saturday and the following an ‘extended’ Saturday and Sunday.  They give you an 11-hour day off in lieu in the week after you have worked a Sunday so all this averages to 40 hours per week.

You will be joining a fun and friendly team of 20 vets, 12 RVNs, 12 VCAs/ SVNs and 24 reception/administrators.  There are certificate holders in Surgery (3), Medicine (4), Cardiology (2), ECC (1), and 1 studying for each of Dermatology and Ophthalmology. Additionally they have visiting specialists in surgery and endoscopy.

Salary is up to £75k pa DOE.
