Salary up to £65,000 DOE, Relocation Allowance up to £3,000
Our client’s practice was established in Ashbourne, Derbyshire in July 2002. They are a close knit team who enjoy good days and lean together in the harder times. They are now looking for an experienced vet to join them.
The team like a good giggle and also support each other when times are tough. There is a large, experienced team of Veterinary Nurses and they are also a VN training practice. The warm, friendly reception team would be able to offer you all sorts of support and knowledge should you choose to join them. One of the Nurses has achieved a distinction in the ISFM's Certificate of Feline Nursing. They have a large amount of clients with cats and work with the local Derby Cats Protection, so if you have a keen interest in working in a Practice who regularly sees a lot of feline patients then this is the role for you. The caseload is varied though and support Just For Dogs and also care for exotics and wildlife as well. The clinic see an above average amount of exotic pets due to having a Certificate holder who is supported by a highly experienced exotics nurse. They have wonderful, loyal clients, a large number of whom have been with them since the day they opened. They pride themselves on building excellent relationships, by being friendly and helpful and offering excellent continuity of care. The team pride themselves on delivering comprehensive veterinary care, encompassing a balanced caseload across medicine, surgery, and imaging. This role presents an opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon to shape their working day by establishing a focus in a particular area of interest, allowing for personalised caseload development.
The client is really keen to support your expertise or learning goals and incorporate them into services for the practice, they are keen to talk to you about any Certificates you are aiming for.
Derbyshire is really a beautiful place and there is plenty of activities to get involved with locally in your spare time, especially if you enjoy the great outdoors. The practice is 45 minutes from East Midlands airport so travelling is easy.
To complement the team of highly skilled vets, they require a dedicated professional to join them on a full or part time basis. Working hours are from 08:30 to 18:30, allowing an hour for lunch and dedicated administrative time. Additionally, a share of Saturday mornings from 08:30 to 13:00 is part of the role.
There is a hugely experienced CD with an encyclopedic knowledge of general practice, offers acupuncture and is an OV. The Senior Vet holds a Medicine Certificate, is a GDP advisor and mentors the team. There are two other experienced Vets (one doing an exotics Certificate the other an OV) and two younger team members who now are three and two years post graduating.
