Our client has a 24-hour hospital based near Kings Lynn and they are looking for a Full-Time Registered Veterinary Nurse to join them.
The team provides advanced emergency care from a single site – no remote answering services with CT, ultrasound, endoscopy, laparoscopic and multi-parameter monitors used for general anaesthesia. They have experience within the team and pride themselves on training and supporting students and new graduates. The nurses have their own dedicated consulting rooms. The practice is proud to be one of the few practices in the country to have 6 outstanding awards as part of the RCVS Practice Standards Scheme. They are also a cat friendly practice with separate wards and waiting areas.
The nursing duties include general medical nursing of in-patients, referral patients and emergency cases, theatre, and schedule 3 procedures, radiography, laboratory, consulting shifts, teaching and mentoring of Student Veterinary Nurses and Support Staff. Due to the needs of the hospital, they operate a rota system, therefore the times of work vary from the earliest shift starting at 7:00am and the latest shift finishing at 10.30pm. In addition, you may also be required to participate in a weekend rota and/or an out of hour’s on-call rota which will include working on weekends and bank holidays.
The team consists of 16 Veterinary Surgeons, 6 of which are certificate holders of diagnostic imaging, cardiology, medicine, soft tissue surgery and ECC. They have 19 Registered Veterinary Nurses with 6 of those having certificates in advanced and surgical nursing, nutrition, anaesthesia and ecc. They also have 10 Student Veterinary Nurses and 12 Support staff. The team aim to be a welcoming, inclusive, and a diverse workplace, where everyone can be themselves and flourish as individuals. They use an induction programme for new team members and promote wellbeing within the practice.
Salary is up to £30k pa DOE.
