Our client is based in Northampton and are looking for a Full Time Registered Veterinary Nurse to join the team.

Northampton is a vibrant town surrounded by beautiful countryside with great transport links to London and Birmingham. The clinic is well-established since 1958. The client has a large main premises and a smaller branch nearby, which both have a loyal client base and some very long-standing employees.

The main branch is large building, RCVS Tier 2 premises which has recently been refurbished. With comfortable staff areas, large, light, and airy consulting rooms and large waiting areas - separate for cats and dogs. They are well stocked with a brand-new digital x-ray and new dental x-ray, ultrasound, endoscope, and in-house lab. There is a large kennel area, dedicated dental suite and large theatre with a multi-parameter machine.
You will join our team of 3 Veterinary Surgeons, 3 Registered Veterinary Nurses, third year student nurse and our Veterinary Care Assistant, alongside the dedicated Reception staff, many of whom have been with the clinic for years. One of the Vets has a certificate in Medicine, and another holds a certificate in imaging and ultrasound.  As a team they enjoy social activities and have attended the local horror maze, Lazer Tag and local pubs and restaurants.

They are looking for a confident and enthusiastic Registered Veterinary Nurse who has a passion for the care of patients and owners alike. A proactive, friendly team player, your duties will include consultations, anaesthesia, overseeing inpatient care, maintaining clinical standards, facilitating efficient team communication, in house laboratory work, and assisting the Vet with diagnostics including the use of brand-new digital x-ray and dental x-ray, ultrasound and endoscope.  

The role will be an 8-hour shift over 5 days or 10 hour shift over 4 days, but they are flexible to discuss alternative working days and hours.  There is a minimum requirement to take part in a Saturday morning rota 8am to 1pm, on a 1 in 4 basis. There are no out-of-hours.  The client is actively trying to increase the nurse consultations at the branch surgery, on occasion, there may be a need to travel to the other branch a short distance away, a driving license and own car would be beneficial.
