Our client based near Newbury are looking for a Full Time Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their team.

The team are a close knit community that thrives on learning and teaching. With a proud 62-year history at their current location, they've become an integral part of the community. They cherish the diversity of their team and believe that everyone, from the cleaners to receptionists to the Clinical Directors, plays a unique and valuable role in creating the practice's full picture. Your opinion and input matters to them and they encourage an open and supportive atmosphere. On this journey, you will be supported by the experienced team of Vets, Nurses, Receptionists, and a dedicated Practice Manager. The success of the clinic hinges on the enduring relationships they've built with their clients. Many of them have been with them for years, and they believe in nurturing a "cradle to grave" connection with them. You'll have the opportunity to be a part of these meaningful bonds that make this practice so special.  While the vets are spread across three branches, the nursing team primarily works in Newbury, with occasional rotations at a nearby branch. This allows for a dynamic work environment and diverse experiences.

As Head Nurse, you will be responsible for the smooth running of the nurse team including creating rotas, uploading rotas on to the payroll software, approving holidays and entering overtime. As Head Nurse you will also oversee the stock control and stock ordering for the practice at all the branches. As part of the nursing team, you will also take on clinical duties including, but not limited to inpatient care, nurse clinics and monitoring of anaesthesia. They have ANAs who take on a large portion of cleaning and maintenance of equipment which combined with a dedicated team of receptionist enables the Nurses to focus purely on their nursing.

This is a Full Time or Part Time role. They are flexible and would welcome applicants looking for 32 to 40 hours over 4 or 5 days per week. Shifts are made up of earlies (8am to 5pm) and late shifts (10am to 7pm, maximum of two late shifts per week). Saturday mornings are 1:4/5 which are paid as overtime. No OOH. Above all, they’re seeking someone who finds joy in coming to work and providing excellent patient care. They're strong advocates of fear-free techniques, ensuring our furry friends receive the best care possible.

If you're a dedicated Nurse who shares a passion for veterinary care, teamwork, and community, then our client would love to hear from you.

Salary is up to £33k pa DOE.
